Galebreaker is owned and managed by Jeremy Scudamore. Coming from a farming family in Herefordshire, Jeremy’s father developed the first Galebreaker product, Rollerscreen, to improve the environment in Dairy sheds. The company rapidly grew over the following decades and now the company has a strong Board with a dedicated Team of professionals, providing innovative fabric solutions for the UK, Ireland and European agricultural markets.
The Galebreaker Board has plenty of ingredients for success; leadership, commercial expertise, financial skills and technical knowledge, all responsible for the long-term success and sustainability of the business. Each member is driven to generate value for all our stakeholders – customers, suppliers, employees, as well as the wider community.
Every quarter the board set out our strategy, and with clear direction and communication ensure that our culture is aligned with our Purpose – to guard against the elements, and our Values – to create a truly great place to work. The Technical team design, develop, and install engineered solutions. Galebreaker year on year invest heavily in the research and development to ensure our products, processes, and installations continue to optimize the conditions which our customers require. The technical team consists of:
- Product Design Engineers that ensure our products are the best they can be and bring the value to our customers.
- Production and Installation Engineers to ensure our products and services are cost effective.
- IT System Engineers to ensure our processes help to realise quality and performance in all areas of the business.
- Project Technicians that ensure our projects are managed professionally and aligned to our customer’s requirements
- Installation Technicians that ensure our products are installed as they were intended either by supervising customer installation teams or undertaking full installation services.
The team pride themselves in continuous improvement and actively seek feedback in all areas so that Galebreaker products and services remain at the forefront of the industry.
The Production team consists of a highly experienced group of multi-skilled operators who flex to suit the needs of the business and our customers. The production set-up includes very diverse machinery which enables us to support a vast range of standard and bespoke manufacturing products and volumes. Our machinery also includes small stand-alone units as well as specialised modern manufacturing machinery.
Right-first time manufacturing remains our core focus and this is further supported by lean manufacturing programs such as 5S, OEE and Continuous Improvement. The team continues to strive for the highest possible quality and service standards and this continues to improve year on year.
The Galebreaker finance department plan, organise, audit and control the company’s finances. They oversee the financial strategy of different areas of the business, manage the accounting function and create growth forecasts that seek to mitigate risk as we strive for continuous excellence and improvement as a business.
Galebreaker’s integrated Supply Chain team is focused on the seamless flow of materials in and through the business working within procurement and materials management. Our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement has seen us working with our supply partners to target a zero tolerance on poor quality and waste within our supply chain, allowing us to deliver the high standard our customers require. Working with key suppliers, our experienced procurement team procures goods and services from suppliers that meet our business requirements while enhancing positive impacts on the environment. Our commitment to ethical procurement has seen Galebreaker awarded a kitemark for Corporate Ethical Procurement & Supply from the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply. Within the business, the materials team focuses on the flow of material from receipt to timely dispatch by utilising the latest processes and technologies. Their focus on right quality, right time, ensures our production colleagues have what they need, when they need it and that deliveries are dispatched in a timely manner for our customers.
Our Sales Teams are industry experts within their sector, providing sound advice and recommendations to both Distributors and end users. The Market Support Team provides Support Services to our Customers, Distributors and the wider business. The Galebreaker Academy offers technical and sales training to our UK and European Distributors and Dealers, ensuring that our partners always give the best possible advice to customers and are kept up to date with product developments and market knowledge. In conjunction with our Marketing Partner, Cognition Agency, we coordinate promotional activities, attendance at trade shows and communicate the benefits of Galebreaker products with our customers.
